Irritation: A Sign Of Powerlessness And Weakness
You’ve been irritated with the traffic? Or angry at your low pay job, or even with your wife or husband who is always demanding from you or your procrastinating? Your children do not respect you? In any of these cases the irritation only denotes your weakness or your powerlessness. It’s not a real powerlessness, but the existence of a conditioned belief on your powerlessness. There is always something we can do for changing the situation. Letting the irritation to take place is the same as feeling offended or somehow being affected by other’s opinions or being contradicted. Yet the question is why don’t you roll up your sleeves and do something to change your world? Why don’t you behave in a mature way and do your part in the exercise of your power and transforms what is available to you? Every time you feel angry, be aware that you are yielding yourself to someone else! Irritation is anger. We only feel angry when we see ourselves wronged by someone. When you feel wronged you victimize yourself and deny your responsibility for the attraction of that situation. It may be that the other has really wronged you, since each one has their own responsibility. However, if you do want to change you have to go out of the victim’s position, stop feeling helpless and hurt. Stop delegating power to the hands of those who you let annoying you! What’s more, you allow the other to vampirize you because your thoughts and emotions are fixed in a particular person or situation, wasting energy and strengthening the other.
Think about it: if you spend minutes, hours, days thinking of someone and getting irritated, you are visualizing the other with a hold on you, and eventually crystallize concrete situations of submission from you and give to others the power to control you and your emotions! So every time something or someone bothers you, just act! Act in the sense of what is right for you! Be yourself your own protector, preserving your principles, your dignity, your dreams, and your rights! Don’t let the other wrong you. Place yourself in your stand, and pay the price for being truthful, courageous, and do not be afraid to lose! You become enslaved by the fear of losing either the supposed love of the other or a convenient professional situation. People who usually remain silent, sell themselves out to the system, and live their lives angrily and bitterly, since they don’t listen to their hearts and consequently don’t protect themselves with self-respect and self-worth! So don’t make this mistake, pay the price for your serenity, be a warrior in your defence with the serene soul of an enlightened, raise your sword to cut the chains that imprison you. But act with wisdom and tranquillity as the ones who play fair in life! We can be strong and calm at the same time because to act calmly, is to act with your soul! Therefore, irritation is for the weak ones because the strong ones act calmly, with no postponing decisions, without self-deception, and deserving of personal fairness!
